Summerly Holiday Traditions

December 8, 2020

There’s no shortage of ways to spread holiday cheer at Summerly! This tight-knit community has so many festive traditions to bring the magic of the season to life.

Festive Lights

When it comes to decorating your home for the holidays, you better bring your A game. Summerly residents go all out for the best-decorated neighborhood contest. Or stop by one residents lighted ornament exchange tree. “Take an ornament – Leave an ornament” – another way to share in the holiday spirit.

“You’ve been Jingled”

Neighbors are surprising neighbors with treats. Just go out and get some treats from any of your neighbors and print a sign saying, “You’ve been jingled,” “You’ve been elfed” or “You’ve been socked.” Drop it off, ring the doorbell and run. Most houses will put a sign on their window or door if it’s happened to them so you’re able to treat others who may not have been treated.

Letters to Santa

Summerly has its very own Santa mailbox courtesy of one of our awesome residents. Children write their wishful notes to Kris Kringle and when they include a return address, Santa writes back! Santa’s letters appear on porches throughout Summerly with a holiday poem and “reindeer food”.

Family Giving Tree

A way to pay it forward this season is by giving gifts to those in need. You can get involved virtually with the Family Giving Tree’s Holiday Wish Drive and grant a child’s holiday wish.

So get to spreading holiday cheer, and get involved in Summerly’s seasonal festivities. Take part in one of our beloved traditions or start one of your own! The more the merrier.
