New Dog Parks for Summerly!

March 12, 2020

We’re feeling doggone excited about the recent opening of two new dog parks at Summerly Community Park. Located right next door to Summerly (https://summerlyhomes.com/), phases one and two of Lake Elsinore’s newest public park officially opened on March 1, 2018, bringing residents exciting amenities like a world-class 10,000-square-foot skate park, two picnic shelters, a basketball court, Little and Major League ballparks and more! And now that phase three has been completed, our furry four-legged family members couldn’t be more excited.

We recently marked the opening of Summerly Community Park’s new dog parks with a celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony. The festivities were attended by city dignitaries, community members, pup parents and, of course, the dogs! Mayor Pro-Tem Robert E. “Bob” Magee spoke about the park and community while pups waited patiently for their chance to play. Animal Friends of the Valleys came out to talk with pet parents, and community members bonded over their mutual love of dogs. Treats were on hand for both humans and dogs, and everyone got the chance to mingle and make new friends.

The ribbon was ceremoniously cut before the dogs were let loose to run around and have fun. Designed to keep pets healthy, one dog park is for small breeds (under 30 pounds) and one is for large breeds (over 30 pounds) so pets can play safely with friends their own size. And play they did! Everyone enjoyed watching the dogs explore the new parks, meet each other and play on the brand new spaces made just for them.

Now that they’re open to the public, you can bring your dogs to enjoy a day at Summerly Community Park! There are plenty of restrooms and designated parking spaces, so visiting is convenient for everyone. Pack a picnic and bring the whole family! Your dogs can play at the dog park, your kids can play on the expansive children’s playground or the skate park and you can relax and enjoy the sunshine! And if you’re not a Summerly resident, stop by our community and learn more about our awesome new home offerings. We’d love to welcome you and your dogs to the neighborhood.
